HEALTH: Our local town water is contaminated with PFAs
Kensington Courts Community is located down stream from WL&Gore and town water is pulled from the Big Elk Creek which passes by WL&Gore. WL&Gore and other large industrial manufactures have conceited to pay nominal sums for this contamination of PFAs in our water yet the town is greatly challenged by the hurdles they must overcome financially and logistically. Given those growing challenges to clean the PFAs from our water the town of Elkton has taken no action to remediate the growing issue.
The link below is in response to a local citizen that spoke at a town meeting in May after having their own tap water tested which revealed extreme levels of PFA contaminants above that of the EPAs recommendation for allowable consumption. The town called in InfraMark to speak on this PFA matter as they are the management company for the town water and sewer operations. All residence are hereby encourage to watch the town meeting on this matter and make choices relevant to their families health. The HOA board highly recommends to contact the town on this matter as a factor of accelerating the PFA filtering by InfraMark but more so to immediately purchase the needed specialized filters to remediate your own tap water.

LEGAL : Kensington Courts resides within the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area
Kensington Courts Community is located within a natural area of the Chesapeake Bay. Many members have no idea that they live within environmentally restricted lands that limit what home owners can do to their exterior properties. All KCCA residents are hereby notified to make themselves aware of the restrictions within their specific property grounds through researching the Critical Area Commission map as many 'common' yard activities within the critical area can amount to serious financial fines that a home owner is liable to pay should exterior activities conducted that violates the Critical Area enforcement.

PROPERTY: Plumbers urge Maryland homeowners take steps to avoid a flooded basement before next round of rain
Kensington Courts Community is unable to escape the changing environment that now brings significant rain amounts in shorter and shorter durations of time. The HOA board is aware of several runoff areas of flooding concern within our development and the board has been working toward resolution on these matters yet finances is always the issue given our extremely low annual dues. The HOA board hereby shares a preparedness link for such events that residents can perform themselves as a means to proactively prepare for those coming weather events.
